aleatory (ay-lee-<<schwa>>-tor-ee), adj. Dependent on  uncertain contingencies. • The word aleatory derives from the Latin word aleator, meaning “a gambler,” which itself comes from alea (a die used in gaming). — Also termed aleatoric. [Blacks Law 8th]
