Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau.A bureau in the U.S. Department of the Treasury

that administers the laws governing the  production, use, and  distribution  of alcohol and tobacco

products,  and  collects  excise  taxes  on  firearms  and  ammunition.  •  The  Bureau  has  the
