res mancipi (rays man-s<<schwa>>-pI). [Latin “things of mancipium”] Roman law. Property,

specifically Italic land with its rustic servitudes and beasts of draft or burden, that can be

transferred only by a formal ceremony of mancipation. — Also termed mancipi res; things
