RECIDIVIST

recidivist (ri-sid-<<schwa>>-vist), n. One who has been convicted of multiple criminal

offenses, usu. similar in nature; a repeat offender <proponents of prison reform argue that prisons

don’t cure the recidivist>. — Also termed habitual offender; habitual criminal; repeater; career
