QUARREL
quarrel. 1. An altercation or angry dispute; an exchange of recriminations, taunts, threats, or

“Quarrels is derived from querendo, and extends not only to actions as well real as personal,
but also to the causes of actions and suits: so that by the release of all quarrels, not only actions
depending in suit, but causes of action and suit also are released; and quarrels, controversies and
debates, are words of one sense, and of one and the same signification, Coke, lib. 8, fol. 153.”
