LITIS DENUNTIATIO

litis denuntiatio (lI-tis d<<schwa>>-n<<schwa>>n-s[h]ee-ay-shee-oh), n.[Latin] Civil law. The process by which a land purchaser, sued for possession of the land by a third party, notified the land seller and demanded aid in defending the suit under the seller’s warranty of title. — Also spelled litis denunciatio.
