imperitia (im-p<<schwa>>-rish-ee-<<schwa>>), n. [Latin] Roman law. Lack of skill or competence; inexperience. • The Romans considered imperitia to be a type of culpa that gave rise to liability in tort or liability under a contract calling for the rendering of services (such as a locatio conductio operis).Imperitus could denote a person, such as a judge who was incompetent in what he undertook.
