GARNISHEE

 

garnishee (gahr-ni-shee), n. A person or institution (such as a bank) that is indebted to or is

bailee for another whose property has been subjected to garnishment. — Also termed

garnishee-defendant (as opposed to the “principal defendant,” i.e., the primary debtor). [Cases:
