DISORDERLY PERSON

disorderly person. 1. A person guilty of disorderly conduct. [Cases: Disorderly Conduct    3.

C.J.S. Disorderly Conduct § 7.] 2. A person who breaches the peace, order, decency, or safety of

the public, as defined by statute.

“Ordinarily, a person who is guilty of disorderly conduct is a ‘disorderly person,’ but where

statutes  define  ‘a  disorderly  person’  and  distinguish  acts  which  may  constitute  the  offense  of

disorderly  conduct, the  distinction  is to  be  preserved  and  the  different  provisions relative  to  the

different offenses particularly followed.” 27 C.J.S. Disorderly Conduct § 1(1), at 509 (1959). [Blacks Law 8th]
