demand  of  view.Hist. In  a  real  action,  a  request by  a  defendant (called  a  tenant)  to  see  the

thing  at  issue  to  ascertain  its  identity  and  the  circumstances  of  the  claim.  •  If a  real  action  was

brought against a tenant who did not know what land was at issue, the tenant might demand a view.
