aliment.Scots law. The financial support that an indigent person is entitled to receive from a spouse  or,  if  un-married,  from  a  relative  or  relatives  in  a  prescribed  order,  beginning  with  the person’s children. — Also termed (in English law) alimony. [Blacks Law 8th]
