ARCHITECT OF THE CAPITOL

Architect  of  the  Capitol.The  officer  in  the  legislative  branch  of  the  federal  government

responsible  for  main-taining  the  buildings and  grounds  of  the  U.S. Capitol, the  Supreme  Court,

and the Library of Congress. • The Architect also plans and supervises new building construction.
