ADEMPTIO
ademptio (<<schwa>>-demp-shee-oh), n.[Latin] Roman law. Ademption. • The term referred
to the revocation of a legacy under certain circumstances, as when the item bequeathed no longer
existed or when the testator no longer owned the item. The ablative form ademptione means “by
